The Charlene Powers-Lange Theater for the Arts at Hutchins Street Square is the Jewel of the Valley. Located in Lodi’s Historic Homes District this breath taking space draws performers and theater-goers from throughout the Central Valley and beyond.

If fine art interests you, join Lodi art-lovers for the First Friday Art Hop, a free monthly event to experience the visual arts. Paintings, sculptures and photography produced by local and regional artists are on displayed in several permanent and temporary galleries throughout downtown. This fun event is an opportunity to talk with artists, enjoy live music, and view the talent of the Central Valley. Many locations even have appetizers and wine tasting.

Lodi hosts many entertaining seasonal events. Twice a year, wine lovers can enjoy the School Street Wine Stroll. In April and October local wineries are paired with Downtown merchants who provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres and offer special discounts, for an evening of wine tasting and shopping in the elegant boutiques and locally owned businesses of our Historic Downtown District. Or you can be one of the 40,000 visitors who flock to Lodi the first Sunday in May and October for the popularLodi Street Faire where you can browse the wares of over 700 antique, arts and crafts, commercial and food vendors. Be sure to visit Micke Grove Zoo – which sits on five acres of land. Visitors of the park can take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Japanese gardens, visit the San Joaquin Historical Museum and sit in a 1900s schoolhouse, or get wild at the Funtown Micke Grove. When you get hungry from all of the non-stop action, take a break and sit at one of the many picnic tables for lunch. After visiting the local Zoo and Amusement Park, exploring the bike and nature trails at Lodi Lake, fishing in the
Mokelumne River or catching a flick at the multi-screen movie theater in Downtown Lodi,
your kids will be begging not to leave!
